Ken Levine Pledges Support for Single-Player Narrative Games

Following EA’s decision to shut down Dead Space developer Visceral Games and move its untitled Star Wars game away from a single-player narrative experience, there’s been some talk about whether blockbuster single-player games are on the decline. A recent Polygon article pointed to Visceral’s shutdown and poor sales for critically acclaimed games like Dishonored 2 and Prey as evidence that we may see less games like this in the future. Amid all the chatter, BioShock creator and Ghost Story Games head Ken Levine spoke up on Twitter to give his full support for the genre. When asked what kind of game Ghost Story is working on, he said, “What I’ve always done: a single-player narrative first-person game.” BosBattle previously reported that Ghost Story is working on an immersive sim game.
